Idyllic and secure

Frances was the perfect hostess- attentive and not intrusive, kind and friendly. The location on their gated farm was idyllic and secure and quite yet very close to downtown Fairhope. The surrounds were very attractive and the room/cottage was top notch and beautifully appointed. It is additionally delightful in that it is a block away from a walmart and you would never guess so once there, and handy for any supplies you may need. The winding drive leads you to a very private haven of huge trees, serene garden areas, mowed fields, the best chicken coop I have ever seen and the quaint little cottage. Frances was so kind to have a few eggs in the fridge waiting for me. The kitchen area is well provided in ways of implements and dish ware etc all nice enough for a small party; you will need to provide all else food and drink wise. The bed was comfy and the bathroom well appointed, again don't forget anything you may need. A few notes to self: *There is no coffee etc so don't forget to bring such supplies. Frances does mention this. *My phone GPS gave odd directions and tried to take me via a back way that does not exist. Look for the gated entrance and keypad on the road she gives. It is across from a fairly new subdivision development, however, no one knew about them even though they are across the road, so don't count on the locals to help locate if lost - however once you find it, it is absolutely easy, especially from downtown Fairhope. *I assumed that I could access my email from my phone and get all the info on my way there...not! So do print off a hard copy of Frances' instructions. Definitely a gem for the area and it is only going to get better as they 'develop' the gardens, arbors etc. Francis made staying there feel so welcoming and natural, much like with family - but without baggage :) Thank you Frances - it is was my first farm stay and it was fantastic

DELIGHTFUL!

Really had a lovely time! Frances greeted us and provided an impromptu farm tour with her young, delightful daughter accompanying us. She even brought us some snacks to feed the animals. The cat and goats and the bunny were super sweet. The young cow ate near our bench and was as content as could be. The accommodations were top notch-beautiful, comfortable, stylish. Couldn't ask for more. Frances even gave us some fresh eggs for our breakfast. DELIGHTFUL! A lovely trip and a wonderful area to explore.

Far exceeded our expectations!

The farm and the chalet are exactly as represented and far exceeded our expectations! Staying here was the perfect way to begin our romantic getaway. Frances was the most lovely and gracious hostess - her enthusiasm for the farm and the animals is contagious! She spent time showing us around and answering our many questions. The chalet is so peaceful and beautifully decorated - everything you need and the farm is minutes away from downtown Fairhope - a delightful city. We are looking forward to visiting Frances and her farm again very soon! It was truly a delight to discover this lovely, serene, piece of heaven on earth in this sweet little farm!

Not your average hotel

Great experience! Not your average hotel which is why we cost to stay here. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. They spent time showing us all the animals and allowed us to feed the baby goats and hold the baby ducks. They run a very clean farm and the room was so peaceful. We would stay here again and we highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience.

The baby goats were so cute!

Firstly, Frances is the perfect host. She has such a laid-back and friendly personality, it makes you want to buy some land and animals and live on a farm yourself. The Farm Stay itself is very clean and exactly what it looks like online. We traveled from New Orleans, so our vacation days were planned around meals. You must go to Locals (lunch/dinner) and Sweet Olive Bakery and Cafe (breakfast). The food is wonderful! Two Sisters Bakery and Deli and Ravenite Pizzeria weren't anything to write home about, but we have no complaints about either spot. We were lucky enough to have baby goats jumping all around the property during our stay. They were so cute to watch and Frances invited us to feed them. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! We absolutely would recommend the Farm Stay to anyone who wants to get away and relax!

Our stay was outstanding

Our stay was outstanding. First, getting onto the property and into the house was not a problem. This was particularly important given our late arrival. Second, the cottage is cozy, quiet and beautiful. Nice furnishings, perfect size for a couple, and a warm feel amidst a cool night. Kitchen fully functional and we whipped up breakfast in a jiffy. It's visually appealing. Third, this is a working farm that feels isolated from the rest of the area. Once onto the grounds, it's quiet, peaceful and serene with the occasional animal making its presence known. Finally, the host graciously showed us her livestock which included goats, cows and pigs. A wonderful, memorable experience.
