Absolutely beautiful!

We went in the middle of winter, so we weren't expecting much scenery, but the farm was absolutely beautiful. From arrival to departure it was a very pleasant stay. Upon arriving the owner greeted us, and gave us a tour of the property. From the chickens, to goats, to even up close and personal with a huge bull. (named sirloin) She even gave us some fresh eggs from the chickens. As far as the place to stay, it is a studio type place, the kitchen and "bedroom" share one nice sized room, with a bathroom of to the side by its self. It is very private and sits away from the main house. The place was extremely clean, and was either newly renovated or very well kept. Granite countertops, very unique deep sinks. Another thing I noticed with it being in the 30s out side the farmstay was extremely well insulated. I would recommend bringing some entertainment with you, they do have a tv with a DVD player ,but there selection was some what limited, we brought some books to read (which they also had) and were more than fine. The city is so beautiful you probably won't Spend much time staying in anyways. The location of the farm was surprisingly close to the downtown area, about 10-15 minute drive, and the only reason it takes that long the main road you take has a 30 mph speed limit. All in all it is a great place to get away, but well close enough if you still want to get into town. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family, and will be using again!

Peaceful retreat

My husband and I had a very relaxing three nights in Frances' gorgeous little cottage in January 2016. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and extremely neat and clean. The animals at Fairhope Farm are adorable and we were lucky enough to arrive only four days after a little goat kid was born! Very special to see and we got to give him a cuddle and feed some of the other animals during a tour Frances gave us of the farm. Whilst the property feels very secluded and rural there is a Walmart only a couple of blocks away which makes purchasing essentials a breeze! We had a great time during our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wanting a bit of a break away from the rat race to recharge the batteries! The hosts are wonderful and made us feel very welcome.

Studio apartment a little out of town

A lovely studio apartment with nice kitchen and bathroom , 2 miles out of town on a small working farm. Quiet. you definitely need a car. reasonable price. I would use it again when visiting Fairhope.

Enjoyed the tour of the farm!

Frances is the kindest host we've come across. She was welcoming, and much more accommodating than she ever needed to be. She gave us a personal tour of her farm our first morning of the trip. It was wonderful!! The cottage itself was super clean, cozy, and had everything we would have needed!! We will definitely stay again next time we're in town. Thanks for everything, Frances!!

Wonderful host

My son and I were in town over the Halloween weekend and Frances spared no expense in making us feel welcome. Before we arrived she sent me links to several area Halloween/Fall Festival events. Once we arrived and were settled, Frances and her daughter gave us a tour of the farm and introduced us to all the animals. She had a Halloween goodie bag for my son and even had dry ice that we placed in the fountain in the courtyard for a "spooky" element. The property is just beautiful, with gorgeous live oaks spreading out from the central courtyard. The guesthouse is quaint and appointed with everything you could need. Being at the Fairhope Farm made me want a small farm to call my own. We would definitely stay here again.

The farm environment was addictive

Frances was a delightful host. The accommodations were as described and quite comfortable. The farm environment was addictive - we so much enjoyed seeing the various "critters" and especially Coal the friendliest cat alive. Very short drive to town, grocery etc.

Off the beaten path

Frances was wonderful! We arrived very late and had no trouble getting in. The farm stay is set back off a main road and you cannot even tell that it's a busy street. Frances left us fresh tomatoes and eggs which were delicious.

Remarkable place

This was a remarkable place. The owner of the home was very helpful and very nice. The place is a little piece of heaven. It was clean and very organized. I would spend many more vacations there in my future.
