Sandy Bottoms is a warm, comfortable, cozy beach front home with character plus! View of dunes, sugar white sand, sunrise, sunset, and the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico! You will feel right at home the minute you walk in the door! Sandy Bottoms is located on the Fort Morgan Peninsula, about 15.5 miles from the intersection of Fort Morgan Road (Highway 180 West) and Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. You can be there in about 15 to 20 minutes! If it is peaceful relaxation and seclusion that you desire, the Fort Morgan Peninsula is the place to be! Fort Morgan is surrounded by water, with the Mobile Bay on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other - the most beautiful natural beaches in the area. Steeped in history, it is a place where nature abounds. The coastal dunes between the house and the Gulf are habitat for the Alabama beach mouse and nesting sea turtles! You won't see high rise, high density condo buildings; rather, you will feel like you have come to a place that is lost in time. It attracts like a magnet! Once you have visited, you will want to come back again and again!
The house is light and bright with an open floor plan in the main living area, making it a great space for family and friends to gather. Right off the living and dining area you will find a desk where you can use your laptop and take advantage of the wireless Internet. The living room, dining area and master bedroom both have access to the large deck and view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The living room has plenty of seating with a large sectional sofa with chaise, and an additional comfy chair with ottoman. Enjoy watching TV or movies with our surround sound home entertainment system with satellite with premium channels such as HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Starz. Connect your favorite Bluetooth enabled device wirelessly to listen to your favorite tunes. Google Cast is also available.
For dining, we offer a large dining table with six chairs, plus two barstools at the kitchen breakfast bar. The living room, dining room and kitchen flooring is ceramic tile, so you don't have to worry about carpet stains. Our kitchen always gets rave reviews from our guests! There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area; however, if you enjoy preparing your own meals, you won't find anything lacking in our kitchen. If you do, let us know, and we will see if we can add whatever you need!
The master bedroom has a comfortable queen size iron bed, large armoire, TV with satellite and DVD, and walk in closet. The master bath has been updated with a large tiled shower, custom travertine vanity with two sinks, tiled floor and walls, and built-in shelving and storage. The second and third bedroom are separate from the master. One bedroom has two twin beds, and the other has a queen bed and desk. Both rooms have chests and closets for storage. The second bath is located just off the hallway, and has been recently updated with a pedestal sink and porcelain tub with shower.
Step out of the living room or master bedroom to a spacious 360 square feet deck, which provides an additional living area and dining area. Enjoy an awesome view of the dunes, sugar white sand dunes, and blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico! The deck is built with composite deck materials, which means no splinters and no hot wood on your feet! This comfortable outdoor living area includes a dining table with six chairs, two person glider, two loungers, and two side tables. This is a great spot to view the awe-inspiring sunrise and sunset, catch some rays, watch the dolphins frolic, or just relax and enjoy the beverage of your choice. You may even be lucky enough to get a free show from the Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron, as they sometimes practice up and down our beach! Want to get out of the sun, but still enjoy outdoor living and dining? There is an additional covered outdoor living and dining area below the house, which includes a wooden picnic table for six people, as well as a porch swing and two Adirondack chairs for additional seating. You will love the enclosed shower downstairs which has hot and cold water, vanity with sink, lighting and electrical outlet (3rd bathroom). You must experience a hot shower where you can feel the ocean breeze and hear the crashing waves!
Step from the Gulf view deck to a boardwalk that leads to a covered shared gazebo with built-in seating. From the gazebo step right onto the sugar white sands of the Gulf of Mexico via our beach access lot. From there it is about 75 feet to the dunes, then over the dunes to the beach! Our uncrowded and unspoiled beach is natural and one of the widest sections of beach on the entire peninsula. Our beach is not groomed, and you can happily hunt for driftwood, shells, sea glass, and other treasures. You might spot dolphins swimming and frolicking in the surf, brown pelicans flying in formation, or blue herons and sea gulls right on the beach in front of the house.
Relax, unwind, listen to the surf, soak up the sun, frolic in the waves, enjoy some shore fishing, watch nature, enjoy awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets, and star gaze at night! You won't be bored, but if you do want more entertainment, there is plenty to do and see in nearby Foley, Gulf Shores, or Orange Beach, just minutes away.

This was our third year and loved our home away from home. We were extremely glad to escape the weather. The day we left it was -25, -55 wind chill. Sandy Bottoms was a welcome respite. Although the weather at this time of the year isn’t always ideal, unless it’s pouring rain, we could always walk on the beach. Having everything we could possibly need to cook our own meals is a big plus. We enjoyed lazy breakfasts and fancy Bloody Marys’ on the deck. When we felt the need to go out, the possibilities are endless, so many opportunities to try something new. My favorite meal is breakfast. We tried the Ruby Slipper in Orange Beach, 5 stars from me. It’s fabulous. And if you like homemade biscuits as big as your face - OMG! Another gem we found in Orange Beach was “Another Broken Egg” The proximity to the beach never gets old. This year we saw several fishing boats within view for about a week. The nearby trails are wonderful. Pine Beach and Gulf Shores State Park have so much to offer. On one of the trails we were happy to find an eagle’s nest. Could see the nest with two young ones and both parents as one flew off to get food while the other stood guard after young were fed. So much of Gulf State Park and other sites still to explore. My husband came across a saying he liked “ A shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes” Hey what more can you ask.

A wonderful stay at Sandy Bottoms for five days over New Year’s. What a lovely place to stay even when the weather isn’t perfect. We like to eat in and Sandy Bottoms has everything we needed to cook at home. I couldn’t imagine anything that we might need that isn’t provided.
Everything about the house is geared toward comfort with soft cozy blankets, comfy beds, an incredible kitchen, beautiful gulf sunsets, and uncrowded beach for miles. It is close enough to shopping and restaurants while still far enough to be private and secluded.
We will keep going back to Sandy Bottoms every chance we get.

We just love this house year round! November, and December have a special place in our hearts for Fort Morgan, and we have been coming here for many years. It is serene and uncrowded, and when we went to the beach, we had it all to ourselves. Sandy Bottoms is warm, comfortable and has everything you need for an extended stay.

We have rented beach houses on the East Coast in N.C., the Gulf Coast in Tx., and the West Coast in Monterrey, Ca. Sandy Bottoms is far and above the best for comfort, furnishings, and relaxation. It was as if someone actually lived in the house and just asked us to "house sit" for a few days. It seems that everything that you would want - or need - was there. Who can fault a beach house that has a Martini Shaker and Martini glasses! We had four wonderful days of R&R after a rough week and we loved every minute of it. The beach was a short walk out the back door (past the gazebo) and the sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Wonderful food inn nearby restaurants and places to buy fresh seafood if you want to cook your own. The only thing we missed out on was the ferry as it was closed Thanksgiving Day and closed due to high winds on the day we left.

This is our second stay at Sandy Bottoms and it has definitely become our family favorite! The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you need so don't bother packing any extra cooking supplies because you won't need it! The beaches are not only beautiful but extremely peaceful and almost completely private! Vicki quickly responds to any questions you may have and is very pleasant to work with. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we look forward to visiting again soon!

Our family had a wonderful week at Sandy Bottoms! The house was perfect and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We were traveling with a toddler and found it very accommodating with the close proximity to the beach. We truly felt like locals and enjoyed a laid back and relaxing beach vacation.
