The Hangout/center of town is a 14 min/0.7 mi walk away, where you will find such entertainment as dining, live music, and the world famous Hangout Festival and Shrimp Festival. Less than a 5 min walk will bring you to Bahama Bob’s Beach Side Café for delicious seafood, Pier 33 for groceries and souvenirs, a deli for ice cream and sandwiches, West Beach Coffee House, and Seaside Package for all your beverage needs. Last, and certainly not least, the sugary white sandy beaches and emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico are right across the street, a 2 min walk! Getting to the beach is safe and easy thanks to the dedicated pedestrian light and crosswalk. This beach access point is staffed by City of Gulf Shores Lifeguards, for your safety and also has a boardwalk, benches, and bath house, for your convenience. Other attractions such as Waterville USA, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, mini-golf, The Wharf, The Track, and the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge are only a short drive away.
The Sands complex has a shared pool for you to enjoy when you’ve had enough of the sand and saltwater and a newly installed sand volleyball court with grills and picnic tables. There are 2 reserved parking spaces underneath the unit and on-site parking for extra vehicles and/or other toys with no parking passes needed! It is located on West Beach sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Little Lagoon. Boat access is not far away and arrival to The Sands during busy festival weekends is a breeze via Windmill Ridge Rd. This small, quite complex has just 16 units and is ideal for families. No waiting around for slow, musty elevators. Park directly underneath and walk right in!
Unit 119 is situated in the back corner of the complex and away from both nearby streets. It has been conveniently outfitted with keyless entry so you don’t have to worry about losing keys. This unit is 2 story, with 2 flights of stairs, and no one above or below you. It has 2 balconies, which directly overlook the pool so you can keep an eye on the little ones. The unit comes stocked with bed linens, bath towels and cloths, beach towels, and beach sheets. The kitchen has an electric griddle, blender, cast iron skillets, a crock-pot, and more! You will also find a starter supply of paper towels, laundry and dish washing detergent, soap, shampoo. There are enough beds to sleep 9 adults and/or children. There are 2 fold out sleeping pads available for kids. Max occupancy of 9 does not include infants. This is a NON-SMOKING unit. Smoking is only allowed outside on balconies and in the ground level area underneath the unit.
GROUND/PATIO LEVEL: Here you will find a bonus area not often found at most locations! This is a great space ideal for watching the game, eating around the outdoor dining table, and hanging out while the kids play in the pool nearby without having to go back and forth into the house! There is an outdoor TV, an outdoor shower for rinsing off, and beach chairs, toys, and an umbrella for your use. A short walk away is the pool, sand volleyball court, community grills and picnic tables.
MAIN LEVEL: On the main floor, you will find a recently updated, well stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counter tops, a pantry, and plenty of cabinet space. The living area is spacious with a sofa and loveseat, a recliner, TV, and balcony access overlooking the pool. The main level also has 1 bedroom with queen bed and attached full bath.
UPSTAIRS: Upstairs you will find a large and spacious master bedroom with 1 closet, a TV, attached full bath, and balcony access. The master bed has a new Sealy Posturepedic pillowtop king mattress. Down the hall is another bedroom with full over full bunks with a twin trundle, 1 closet and a TV. In-unit washer and dryer are located in the hallway.

My wife and I had been looking to purchase a little place to call our own on the Gulf Coast for quite some time. A place we could gather with friends and family and a place to make memories with our family! We found what we were looking for at The Sands! I am originally from Alabama and spent many summer family vacations in Gulf Shores. We currently reside outside of Boulder, CO and love the mountains as much as we love the beach. We hope you enjoy our little piece of beach life paradise, as much as we do!
Beach access right across the street. Walking distance to a few restaurants and groceries. Only 20 mins from the famous Flora-Bama. Comfortable beds and pillows, fully stocked kitchen, clean and perfect for our family of 5.

Overall a very great place to stay. The convenient walk to the beach was a definite plus. Probably the first place I stayed on the gulf coast where the air conditioning actually worked properly. Unit has a nicely stocked kitchen with pots, pans and dishes. If we return to Gulf Shores we would definitely consider this unit again.

The townhouse was close to everything. Our family had a great time and the pool was close for the little ones. If I had a question Blake responded in a timely manner. Could have had more towels for our family size, we will definitely book in the future.

Pros of this property: -Pool was great. Kids loved having it right there. I could watch them from the balcony. -Easy access to beach and owners give you access to their beach toys. -Very convenient location. -Place is pretty spacious and we had what we needed. -Nice master bedroom. -Owner very responsive. Cons of this property: -Faint smell of cigarettes every time you re-enter until you get used to it. -Kitchen is extremely disorganized. -Master is upstairs sharing bathroom with bunk room. So my husband and I opted for the downstairs bedroom with our own bathroom. That room is pretty small, and we couldn’t get the TV to work.
